How to Play Sudoku

Sudoku is a logic puzzle, not a math test. You only need the numbers 1 through 9 and a careful eye for rows, columns, and boxes.

Sudoku rules

  1. Each row must contain 1-9 once.
  2. Each column must contain 1-9 once.
  3. Each 3x3 box must contain 1-9 once.
  4. Use the given numbers as fixed clues.

Beginner tips

Start by scanning rows and boxes with many filled cells. If a number can only fit in one place, enter it. If you are unsure, add pencil notes and return later.
